ASICS Fleet Pre-London Half Marathon 16 March 2008

Newsletter Issue 4 - 5 March 2008

Amazon Windows & Conservatories continue with their support to the local community and wish all the runners a successful race, with some PBs being achieved.

Well, it is less than two weeks before the 2008 ASICS Fleet (Pre-London) Half Marathon. You should have completed your longest run by now, if not this weekend coming, and we recommend easing down on your training so you do not arrive at the start line tired.

For runners:

Running numbers and race packs have been sent out. Additional and updated information is now available on the ASICS Fleet Pre-London Half Marathon Web site. From the home page, select “Race HQ.” If you have any questions, please check here first. Further updated information will be available nearer race day and in a final e-mail prior to the race.

If you have not yet received your race pack or there is anything missing all instructions are included in the Race HQ section. Do not e-mail us without checking there first.

On race day:

Full instructions for race day are included in the race pack. There is also a copy of the Runners’ Notes booklet available to download from the on-line Race HQ. Ensure that you arrive in plenty of time and park in the town centre car parks. There will be direction signs to Calthorpe Park.

96.4 Eagle Radio will be in the park and there will be an aerobic warm-up provided by Evelyn Farrell.

In the park the Amazon Windows Marquee is available for kit storage. If you require the lavatory leave yourself plenty of time to avoid queues. Do not use the bushes around the park. You will need to leave for the short walk to the start line around 11am.

For non-runners:

The race cannot go ahead without the help of many volunteers. One of the most important roles is marshalling the route on the day. We still have a few spaces for marshals so if you are able to do this or friends or family would like to do it, please contact marshals@fleethalfmarathon.com. You will be given full details of what is required and you are able to watch the whole of the race up close.

Keep training, keep smiling and we look forward to seeing you on 16 March 2008.
